Poetry
Benedict’s poems have appeared in Ambit, Magma, Orbis, Acumen, Other Poetry, Prole, Finished Creatures, Borderlines, The Morning Star and South Bank Poetry.
The poem The Locksmith will be published in The North magazine in August 2019.
Benedict’s first pamphlet Somewhen was shortlisted for the Indigo Dream’s First Pamphlet Competition in October 2018, and long listed for the Live Canon Pamphlet Competition in July 2019.

Films
Commissioned as part of Channel 4’s Random Acts series, The Royal Oak is the second poetry film collaboration between Benedict and award-winning animator Sandra Salter, who directed and made the film. Their first, Cul de sac, was shortlisted for the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival competition, Berlin, then included in a Special Programme of ZEBRA highlights at the 24th International Short Film Festival, Berlin.
Both films have since been shortlisted for other competitions and have appeared at a number of festivals, with The Royal Oak winning the Best Animation Audience Choice Award at the Purbeck Shorts competition at the Purbeck Film Festival.
Chosen as the opening film for the Filmpoem Festival, The Royal Oak also appeared as part of the film programme for the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival, Berlin. It featured in an introduction to poetry film in The Huffington Post.
Magma magazine
Benedict is a member of the Magma board, and is the Production Manager for the magazine. He and Pauline Sewards are co-editors of Magma 74, launched in July 2019. The theme of the issue is ‘Work’.
